It’s time for THE TWILIGHT ZONE Marathon on the SyFy channel!  December 31 through ALL NEW YEARS DAY! What’s YOUR Twilight Zone Fave?  I’d love to know!  Below are 13 of mine!   I’ve been a HUGE FAN for as long as I can remember.  (And that’s a loooooong time.)  Watching always brings back the memory of anxiously waiting in front of our black and white TV for that unmistakable tune which has beguiled us through the decades, even greeting us on our ringtones.  (Mine!) 

So naturally, I was simply pleased-as-otherworldly-punch, when I was honored to get to know the marvelous Anne Serling, daughter of the great Rod Serling, when we were both Special Guests at Comic Con.

Every time I re-watch an episode of The Twilight Zone, I find yet another nugget of wisdom, mirth or irony, carefully hidden just beneath the surface of the obvious.  Rod Serling was a brilliant pioneer in his field with a tremendous talent and heart.  He didn’t need to get on a pulpit or soapbox and shout out his thoughts.  With his good looks and a voice like none other, he rendered eloquent, provoking introductions, then wove fascinating stories for us to watch, letting us look within and come to our own conclusions.  

Just like any great literature, they are as relevant now, as when they first aired.  Perhaps more so, which certainly gives one pause.  “Man’s Inhumanity to Man” is often an underlying thread, but also often Humanity, as we learned from classic characters like Ebeneezer Scrooge – magical stories that make us reflect, then hopefully make our and others’ lives better through perspective, caring more, giving more and “Passing it forward” as we move through a new age dimension of a real-world “Twilight Zone”.

I was always mesmerized by this and now in this day and age, it truly gives me the cold sweats!!!

Is William Shatner losing his mind?  Who is to say?  I never go on an airplane without peering out the window and thinking of this episode!

I could perhaps say this is my all-time fave, but difficult as they are ALL so FAB!

 1990 – Troll 2 –  What a Wild Ride!  Who knew?  None of us could have imagined this little movie we were performing in was to become the worldwide cult classic film that it is – loved by so many walks of life – “Troll 2“.

In this scene, Arnold (Darren Ewing) bravely confronts the “Monsters”.

Arnold and his new acquaintance don’t fare well, as a Goblin attack ensues!

The frightened duo stagger from the forest to a creepy looking abode.

Troll 2 Trivia: “The original church house was erected in 1898.” “Eventually, costs of maintenance and needed repairs led the congregation to remodel the old school house and convert it for use as a church. Although the school house was sold to the ward in 1936, it was not until 1946 that regular meetings were held in the refinished space, mostly due to World War II. The church was sold to Marvin and Grace Kilbourn who, despite efforts at preservation, were unable to prevent vandalism over the next several decades. SUDDENLY, a disturbingly odd old woman appears at the top of a rickety long staircase.

My Personal Trivia:  My first appearance in the film!  Someone grabbed me from behind as a joke away from the scope of the camera – just as I was about to say my line and descend the stairs.   It threw me off mentally!   I just went on with it, which resulted in one crazy take!  But then, the majority of my lines were one-take wonders.  Hee.)

The old lady then says . . . . .  “T…………………………..!”

My character, Creedence Leonore Gielgud is reacting to the two strangers, Arnold and a wandering lost girl who have stumbled into her creepy abode.  Arnold asks, “What is this place?”  Creedence replies, “My ancestors come from Stonehenge…..”

Poor Christina.  When I met her, I remember thinking what a lovely girl she was. I’ll never forget that sweet girl’s dilemma.  Sinking in Green Jello and her teeth were chattering!  She was freezing!    And she was stuck there for quite awhile, but fortunately was done in one take.

Another movie with my buddy and ” My TROLL 2  ” castmate, Darren Ewing!  He is also in a brand new Hallmark movie, “My Christmas Love”.  See more on my Romantic Christmas Comedies blog.  

Fix some hot cocoa and snuggle up!  I really enjoyed this move.  I found it to be better than some of the ‘Christmas cookie’ cutter romance movies.

I always enjoy Candace Cameron and of course enjoyed seen my friend, Darren Ewing!  Watch when she arrives at her new Hospital and meets the orderlies and keep watching for his fun trademark personality! (At the end, actually emotional…)  Check out his IMDb page!

A new doctor/surgeon who was looking forward to a prestigious fellowship to move her career forward, only finds herself moving to a remote Alaskan town as a very small town doctor.  Curing town colds and a reindeer, her perspective begins to change…  Has a touch of a very special touch of ‘Magic’!  You’ll be giggling at the end!  

Nominated for the OFTA Television Award for “Best Motion Picture”.

Especially fun was watching Amber’s Sweets perform their hilarious ‘Shadow-Cast’ rendition of Troll 2 on stage, while the movie played on the screen behind them.  I was amazed how much the players managed to look like our characters, wardrobe and all! The whole cast was amazing!
